The coordinator of ANEMEL, Pau Farràs, has been recently elected as an European Innovation Council’s (EIC) Ambassador. His new role, which will run until 2027, involves using his voice to promote the EIC across the European and international innovation ecosystems. The new wave of EIC Ambassadors was introduced by European Commissioner Iliana Ivanova at the 2024 EIC Summit in March, during the Research and Innovation Week in Brussels.
Being an EIC Ambassador is a voluntary duty. Ambassadors are kept well informed about the latest developments and impacts of the different EIC programmes and priorities to promote and communicate them to a wider network. This involves, among other things, speaking about the EIC at relevant events and with the media. The Ambassadors also provide insights and feedback to support further improvements to the EIC.
Pau Farràs is one of the 22 new EIC Ambassadors in this year’s selection, which joins another 26 Ambassadors from previous cohorts that have extended their role. Among this group of 48 individuals there are previous EIC board members, high-profile EIC beneficiaries such as CEOs, and leading researchers of highly innovative projects. The Ambassadors community is gender-balanced and includes a broad representation of profiles relevant to the EIC, covering 30 countries.
Congratulations, Pau!
