The European Commission’s Innovation Radar selects ANEMEL’s technology

EU identifies non-PGM electrodes for alkaline water electrolysis as an innovation that responds to current market trends and needs, highlighting ANEMEL partners the University of Galway, Ireland, and Industrie de Nora, Italy, as “Key Innovators”.

The European Commission’s Innovation Radar has recently selected ANEMEL’s technology in water electrolysis as a promising platform towards technology transfer. The Innovation Radar is an initiative created to identify high potential innovations and innovators within EU-funded projects, to make them visible and accessible to the public. Specifically, it has selected electrodes without platinum group metals (non-PGM) for alkaline water electrolysis as an innovation that responds to existing market trends and needs. Innovation Radar has also identified in this analysis two ANEMEL partners as “key innovators”, the University of Galway, Ireland, and Industrie de Nora, Italy.

The Innovation Radar initiative aims to publicise and promote interesting information about EU-funded innovations, raising awareness about high-quality research projects and increasing visibility via its platform. This will allow citizens, public officials, decision-makers, industry leaders and business professionals to discover the many excellent technological and scientific advances being delivered by researchers and innovators across Europe, all funded by the European Commission.

ANEMEL’s technology will join the 11000+ EU-funded innovations already showcased on the platform. This could open up new opportunities for technology transfer, as well as create collaboration opportunities with academic organisations and projects. Moreover, as part of the Innovation Radar, our electrode technology, based on abundant elements like nickel and iron, could trigger interest from potential customers and innovation investors. Above all, it will demonstrate ANEMEL’s innovative work to a global audience.

The Innovation Radar platform builds on the information and data gathered by independent experts involved in reviewing ongoing research and innovation projects funded by the European Commission. These experts offer an independent assessment of the projects’ innovations and their viability within the market landscape.

Supporting this initiative is Dealflow.eu – a Horizon 2020 project dedicated to propelling high-potential EU-funded innovations into the market arena and supporting the innovators in fulfilling the market potential of their innovations.
