Our project ANEMEL has just turned two years old, and we have plenty to celebrate! It’s been a year full of activity as we move closer clean hydrogen production from dirty waters—including seawater and other impure waters. After the initial successes of our first year, which included designing catalytic systems, membranes, and cells, this second year has focused on refining and improving them. Our goal is to make hydrogen production sustainable, considering the reduction of critical raw material use, the elimination of fluorinated “forever chemicals,” and ensuring long-term stability through studies such as life-cycle assessments.
The annual report also delves into our communication efforts and the collaborative activities within the Green Hydrogen portfolio of projects, all funded by the European Innovation Council to drive the commercialisation of clean hydrogen technologies. A particular highlight of this year here has been the launch of our ANEMEL webinar series, which focuses on green hydrogen production, seawater electrolysis, and sustainability.
Find all the details in our second Annual Report! In it, we look back at all the work we’ve accomplished this year, summarise the challenges within each of our Work Packages, and give you a sneak peek into the future of the project. The report is publicly available here. Enjoy the read!
